What makes Durban such an phenomenal place to visit is the Sun, Sea and Sizzling hot events calendar that leaves you breathless just by reading it! There is always something to do, somewhere to go and sites to see! The location of Leigh's Cottage is also very central, making getting around very straight-forward and easy to do for the out-of-town folks!

Beaches:
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches in the area. From Thompson's Bay in Ballito, to Umhloti and Umhlanga beaches.
The city revamped the Durban beachfront extensively in the lead up to the Soccer World Cup in 2010 resulting in the most exquisite stretch of beach you've ever seen. Cycle, jog, roller-blade or walk the promenade
Shopping:
Gateway Theatre of Shopping - Hailed as one of the largest shopping centres in the Southern Hemisphere (& my feet can attest to that), Gateway has absolutely everything you need. From clothes and shoes, to electronics and food!
La Lucia Mall - Located just 2 minutes down the road, The Mall (as the locals refer to it) is small, convenient and has almost everything you might need.
Movies:
The closest movie theatres are at Gateway. There is both Ster-Kinekor and Cinema-Nouveau (showing the more artsy movies).
